Steve Butterworth Appointed Executive Director of the GroupThe Offshore Group of Insurance Supervisors are pleased to announce that Mr. Steve Butterworth has been appointed Executive Director of the Group. Mr. Butterworth, well known to all in the global insurance industry, was a founding member of the Group and served as its Chairman for many years. He was also closely involved with the International Association of Insurance Supervisors, serving on the Executive Committee for many years, and was the founding Chairman of both the Education and the Insurance Fraud Sub-Committees. As Executive Director of the Group his main focus will be to liaise with the Education Committee in order to assist and progress the Group’s training strategy, represent the Group’s interests on an international level as appropriate and encourage non-member jurisdictions to become a part of the Group. Speaking on behalf of the Group, the Chairman, David Vick of the Insurance and Pensions Authority, Isle of Man, said that the Group is very pleased to have Steve back and to be able to draw on his experience and expertise. The 12th annual working meeting of the Group will be held in Mauritius from 25th to 27th April 2005, and this will be followed by a one day training seminar for senior supervisors. A training seminar for junior trainee supervisors will be held in the British Virgin Islands from 25th to 27th July 2005. February 8, 2005 |
